1. Scope and operator

This policy describes data handling in the Rover Route iOS application and in the hosted copy of this policy page. Rover Route is an offline logic puzzle game where players plan command sequences to guide a rover through route puzzles.

The legal operator and App Store publisher responsible for this policy have not yet been confirmed. That information must replace this draft notice before publication.

2. Data used by the app

The inspected Rover Route build stores the following app data locally:

• Pilot profile: the nickname entered in Settings and the selected built-in avatar symbol.
• Puzzle progress: puzzle identifiers, daily-route date keys, completion status and time, best command count, and best remaining energy.
• Preferences: animation speed, haptics, sound, reduced-motion choice, onboarding state, and the selected tab.

The app uses this information to display progress, remember preferences, personalize the local pilot profile, and continue gameplay. The inspected build does not transmit this information to an app-operated server.

3. Accounts, analytics, and tracking

Rover Route does not require an account or sign-in. No analytics, advertising, attribution, tracking, crash-reporting, payment, or AI service SDK is included in the inspected build. The app does not use an advertising identifier and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

This description applies to the inspected app version. A future version that adds online services or third-party SDKs will require this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures to be reviewed before release.

4. Storage, backups, and retention

Rover Route stores puzzle records using Apple's SwiftData framework and stores preferences in the app's local settings storage. The app does not implement its own cloud sync or remote backup service.

Device backups are controlled by iOS, Apple, and your device or account settings. Backup copies may follow Apple's retention and restoration rules; Rover Route does not control or directly delete those backup copies.

5. Clearing local data

The Clear Data control in Settings deletes stored puzzle-progress records and resets the nickname, avatar, animation speed, haptics, sound, reduced-motion setting, and selected tab on the current device. In the inspected build, this action does not reset the onboarding-completed flag.

Uninstalling the app normally removes its local app container from the device. Data restored from an Apple-controlled device backup is subject to Apple's backup behavior and your settings.

6. Device permissions

The inspected build does not request access to location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, notifications, or tracking. Core gameplay does not require an internet connection.

7. Apple platform services and external destinations

Rover Route is distributed through Apple's platform and uses Apple system frameworks for its interface and local storage. Apple may process App Store, device, purchase-history, diagnostic, or backup information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy; the app developer does not receive such information through the functionality inspected for this draft.

The Settings screen can open Apple's App Store updates page. Leaving the app for an Apple service is governed by Apple's policies.

8. This policy web page

This HTML file does not set cookies, use browser storage, load external fonts or scripts, run analytics, or make network requests of its own. When the page is placed on a public HTTPS host, that provider may receive standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and time of access through server or security logs.

The hosting provider and its logging and retention practices have not yet been selected. They must be documented before publication.

9. Your choices

You can edit the locally stored nickname and preferences in Settings and use Clear Data to remove the app-managed information described above from the current device. Because the inspected build does not transmit this data to the operator, there is no corresponding server account to access or delete.

10. Changes to this policy

If Rover Route's data practices change, the policy should be updated with a new visible effective date and an appropriate policy version. Updating a hosted page alone does not automatically require existing users to agree again; any repeat-consent behavior must be implemented and verified in the app.

11. Contact

A confirmed public privacy contact is not yet available in the project sources. The operator must add a durable email address or other working contact channel here before publication.
